There aren't a lot of places where learners can talk about their experiences, their frustrations and their triumphs. I'm really looking forward to hearing what you all have to say. So don't be shy!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have to say that if all students had experiences like mine when I was learning Spanish, I think everyone would give up. My professors had the idea that the best way to learn a language was simply to memorize, memorize and memorize some more. I met nothing but frustration. I simply couldn't learn in that way. And the sad thing was, my professors just didn't care whether or not I learned. It was so disheartening. The only thing I really learned from these language instructors is that I would never teach that way. So for that I am grateful. Though I would have preferred to have learned a little of the language as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what do I think is the best way to learn language? That is a tough question... I think it can be different for different people, but that being said, there are definitely some better ways, and memorizing isn't one of them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I will share more on this another day.
